"I’ve been wanting to paint a deep-sea diver for a while now. On day, I was in my dads office and stumbled upon some pictures and newspaper clippings of my father’s grandfather working as a deep-sea diver in Cape May and other parts of the northeastern coast. Referred to as “one of the country’s most skilled deep-sea divers,” I decided to pay tribute to my great grandfather through this piece, along with the lineage of my father’s family, all of whom have worked on the water ever since."
