During the summer months, it's a rarity for me to spend much time with my other half. With my hectic schedule of weekly art shows and his busy fishing routine, by the end of July, it feels like we're two ships passing in the night.

July holds a special place in my heart, mainly because of the seasonal catch – lobsters. When Chris and I do manage to find time together, it's a treat when he brings home a lobster or two from his day boat. Our dinners during this busy time are simple but cherished. Chris boils the lobsters while I mix up cocktails. A plate of fresh lobster, melted butter, cold drinks, and some quality time is all we need to get through the hectic season.

"A Day's Work" was created in honor of these special nights. The reference photo was taken by our dear friend and local photographer, Johnny Gees, after Chris and his crew returned from a day of lobstering off the coast of Cape May County. Totes of lobsters are unloaded from Chris's vessel, the F.V Conquest, and delivered to local seafood restaurants, including H&H Seafood onsite at the dock.
